Mount Gambier business leader and mum-of-three Marika Hart said her interest in joining SMLC was first sparked by listening to Project Manager Sophie Bourchier speak passionately on AOD education at her children’s school.
After joining the Planet Youth Network Group in 2024, Marika has been instrumental in leading conversations around the importance of parental education and in particular, preparing parents for the crucial transition period between early and high school years.
By joining SMLC’s Board, Marika wants to help raise awareness and local accountability around the importance of alcohol and drug education in schools and amongst sporting groups, helping increase protective factors around at-risk children.
An Owner/Director for Complete Real Estate, Marika is also a Board member of the major youth music event Generations in Jazz and plays an important role in local sporting clubs, as both a player and as an advocate.
